New Highway Publishing is established as publishers of the Club magazine and is appointed to oversee the growth and management of the customer clubs for The Lewis Group and The Foschini Retail Group.
2000
Club magazine, previously one title mailed to two retailer databases, is segmented and targeted according to the varying strategies of The Lewis Group and The Foschini Retail Group (FRG). New Highway publishes one title for Lewis Stores/Best Electric and another for The Foschini Retail Group (FRG).
2003
New Highway conceptualizes a brand extension for The Foschini Retail Group (FRG), SuperClub for Kids. This magazine and club for kids aged 5-10 years sees 25 000 members joining in Year 1, immediate ROI and further entrenches customer relationships, helping The Foschini Retail Group create dialogue with a new generation of prospects.
2004
New Highway conceptualizes and launches FRG Club magazine’s website, which is promoted by print and SMS marketing. The website wins the Five-Star SA Web Award and the International Golden Web Award in Year 1.
New Highway also launches the FRG Club e-mail newsletter, which, by Month 3, has over 1 000 subscribers enjoying weekly communication with the FRG.
New Highway conceptualizes and launches highly successful Club-related events – wedding workshops, fashion shows and movie previews.
2006
SuperClub for Kids goes online to celebrate its third birthday when New Highway creates a SuperClub website mid-2006.
New Highway’s title for The Lewis Group, Lewis Stores Club magazine receives a Highly Commended Award at the 2006 Picas in the Customer Magazine Retail & Lifestyle Category.
2008
Lewis Club magazine’s ABC increased from 482 560 (Jan-Mar 08) to 489 290 (Apr-Jun 08).
New Highway launches Wedding Moments, a once-off bridal magazine and website aimed at couples planning Western Cape weddings. The print run is 10 000, with 50% of that being distributed on-shelf at leading newsagents, and the remaining 50% being distributed via a strategic partnership with Galaxy & Co through their retail stores.
Readership of the Lewis Club magazine reaches an all-time high with the release of Amps 2007B data. Readership of the magazine over this period was 981 074.
2009
NHP and kri8it redesign and relaunch the Lewis Club website, www.lewisclub.co.za, for easier navigability and to better reflect the editorial pillars of the magazine.
